The Class of 2019 has arrived at Alvernia University this fall. One of the largest incoming classes in university history, the Class of 2019 also boasts the strongest academic profile of any first year class.

Coastal Carolina University welcomes its newest class of first time freshman and transfer students

Nearly 150 Lebanon Valley College students will march with The Pride of the Valley Marching Band this year. The marching band performs at all home football games as well as appearances at various exhibitions throughout the fall semester.

The following local residents have been named to the spring 2015 Dean's List at University of the Sciences. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a "C" and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the spring of 2015.

Kutztown University has conferred degrees on nearly 1,400 students during the winter, spring and summer terms. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish their requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The following students have been awarded degrees since the winter 2015 announcement. Students who have requested privacy (FERPA) are not listed publicly.

The following students from the area were named to the Dean's List for the spring 2015 semester at Widener University in Chester, Pa.

The residents listed below earned their associate's, bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees from Widener University during the annual Commencement ceremonies on May 15 and 16. The university presented degrees to August 2014, December 2014 and May 2015 graduates during the ceremonies.

At 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 514 graduates took center stage for Elizabethtown College's 112th Commencement. The class of 2015 boasts 77 earning their Master of Science degrees, 126 with Bachelor of Arts degrees, 282 with Bachelor of Science degrees, 15 who have earned their Bachelor of Music degrees and 14 with bachelor's degrees in social work. E. Roe Stamps IV, founder of the Stamps Leadership Scholars, was speaker.

Lebanon Valley College inducted 140 students into its Sigma Alpha Pi National Leadership and Success Honor Society.

Elizabethtown College Theatre performs the Oscar Wilde play, "The Importance of Being Earnest," from February 12 through 22, 2015. Oscar Wilde is known for his portrayal of the human condition in Victorian times, and none of his stories is more clever than the outlandish "The Importance of Being Earnest," about two men who have fallen for two ladies who have their hearts set on marrying a man named Ernest.

The Widener University Computer Science Department recently organized a Community Tech Day as a way to give back to the Chester community using the technical skill sets of its faculty, staff, and students. Student volunteers helped participating Chester community members get their electronic devices working to the best of their ability.

Over the course of a series of dinners, drinks, and even a wedding, "those good and crazy people [his] married friends" share the pros--and cons--of marriage, often not doing what they say. .... At the same time, a bewildering array of interactions with girlfriends leads Robert to wonder whether his friends are right.

Lebanon Valley College is a four year residential college and believes that an LVC education is the result of distinctively curricular and co-curricular experiences in class, on campus, and in the residence halls. Approximately 1,200 LVC students live in the residence halls on campus each year.

Albright College welcomes more than 1,740 undergraduate students for the 2014-15 academic year.

Lebanon Valley College's Pride of the Valley marching band is made up of 151 members representing 24 different academic programs. The fall 2014 halftime show is titled "Decimation of the New World."

Lebanon Valley College is recognizing its high-achieving first-year students for receiving scholarships from the College. Among the incoming class of 448 students, 63 percent rank in the top 30 percent of their high school class; 12 students were valedictorians; 52 percent of students earned a scholarship worth half-tuition; and five students received the full-tuition Allwein Scholarship.
